BioHello! You can call me Jasper if you want to, though I usually don't go by my real name here for privacy/stalking/not-liking-my-real-name issues. I'll tell you a little about myself...
My best-loved hobbies are bird-watching, listening to David Bowie, coating myself in glitter, shopping, dancing, weight-lifting, researching animals in a scientific manner, being awed by astronomy always, writing, drawing, going to punk shows, going to rock concerts and being myself. Oh, and hanging with my Mum, sister, and friends. ^_^
I'm a sensitive person and I try to get things that may off-put people out in the open in the first place.
This may be a warning or may be a welcome announcement, take it as you will... I write slash and have I may mention odd fantasies (never in detail-if I ever do [which I doubt], it , I will put up some warning or put it under an lj-cut) and the like in my livejournal. It's just a part of who I am. I've accepted that, and if you take issue with it or say I'm some nut...well, maybe I am some nut! But I'm perfectly content being that way.
I also don't mind imbibing in substances that aren't too dangerous/addictive (for me). I drink, I smoke pot, I experiment with stuff like salvia divinorum that makes you hallucinate. I don't think all drugs are the same. Stuff I DON'T do: heroin, crack, meth, cocaine, etc. etc. Bad addictive stuff that makes your teeth fall out. I do it responsibly, but if it bothers you to the point that you feel you must lecture, well... I won't lecture you, let's say, but I do get concerned about people doing things bad for them. The worst stuff I have done was when I was drunk, certainly not high. I know I'm a stereotypical old-style hippie and...I guess that's just how I am.
I am very stubborn about what I believe & will passionately defend what I love. Around me it is a good idea not to insult any animal as I love them all fiercely. I am a lacto-ovo vegetarian. I love to debate in a rational manner about politics and other stuff but don't expect me to bend when it comes to my beliefs regarding animals, & things I'm deadset on (like politics- I like to debate to understand one's perspective). I am indeed a liberal, a progressive, what-have-you. I do not like the Bush Administration and you will see that in some of my posts. I don't want to offend anyone, but if you are easily offended or differ greatly from me, you may not "get" me too much. I admit I will exaggerate sometimes and say some things out of pure dislike rather than logical reasoning from time to time; realize I'm human and if I say something crazy, I'm probably on drugs, lol. If you mind occasional rants realise that I am passionate about my beliefs and I will rant (positively & negatively) about many things. If you don't like it, perhaps I'm not the lj-friend for you.
I am fun-loving when not stressed. I will admit I can be easily irritated but I can be brought out of such a state of mind. I can be picky when it comes to what I want to do or who to commune with at times. I am a very funny person with a good sense of humour and often amuse my family and people I can be myself with. I love to dance, listen to music, party & have a good time, but I also have a very deep, analytical side. I'm a writer & poet, after all (although writer's block can get you sometimes)! I am very honest regarding myself- perhaps it is in my Sagittarian nature to be so frank. I love music and spending time in untouched natural settings. Religion-wise, I don't have one. I have practiced magick occasionally, but I'm not sure about anything. Spiritual insurance, I guess. I don't think there's a god. Writings attributed to "the Buddha" make a lot of sense to me, but I don't like any religion in general. God could be real, but then again, so could UFOs, fairies, and the flying spaghetti monster. I have had a past life experience myself, which I cannot account for, so maybe I was reincarnated or that that meant something, because I don't hallucinate when I'm not totally tripping out or something! If you're a Jesus freak and you feel the need to "save" me, just...go away and please read The God Delusion by Richard Dawkins.
So, here's a rundown. I am: an INTP, always thinking, fairly misunderstood, a believer in my own philosophy, a geek, a liberal, a vegetarian, a writer, a poet, a singer, a dancer, a Sagittarius, a stoner, a lover of politics, a socialist, a Bowie fanatic, a Beatlemaniac, a Dead-head, a thrill-seeker, a sadomasochist, a hopeless romantic, hedonist, and many things in between.
I love making new intelligent &/or fun (non-crazy-insano-obsessive) friends with common interests--slash, the daily show, the colbert report, music, bird-watching, animals, spiders, Star Trek, Aqua Teen Hunger Force (and Adult Swim in general), liberal politics and philosophizing come to mind. If you want to know more, please e-mail me. I will admit I don't get on the internet often, because I always end up finding stuff to learn about, and end up on it for hours and hours! Learning is good, but so is attending to other things! ^_~
